Eligibility Criteria for Professor and Other Posts

Educational Qualification

• Professor (Economics): An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualifications (s) in Economics.
• Assistant Professors (Surgery): Post- Graduate degree in the concerned specialty or Super-speciality i.e. Master of Surgery (Surgery), Master of Surgery (General Surgery)
• Assistant Professors (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation): Post- Graduate degree in the concerned specialty or Super-speciality i.e. Doctor of Medicine (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation); or Doctor of Medicine (Medicine) with Diploma in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation; or Master of Surgery (General Surgery)or Master of Surgery(Orthopaedics) with two years special training in the Speciality in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (Rehabilitation Medicine) or two years of equivalent training approved in the subject in any approved institution in India.
• Assistant Legislative Counsel (Kannada): Master’s degree in Law (LLM) from a University established or incorporated by or under a Central Act; a Provincial Act or a State Act or any institution for higher education deemed to be a University by the Central Government or any other institution or foreign University approved by the Central Government.
• Nautical Surveyor-cum- Deputy Director Generals (Technical): Certificate of Competency as Master of a Foreign Going Ship as recognized by the Government of India.
• Veterinary Officers: A recognized Veterinary qualification included in the first schedule or second schedule of the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1982.

Age Limit for Professor and Other Posts

• Professor (Economics), Nautical Surveyor-cum- Deputy Director Generals (Technical): 50 yrs
• Assistant Professors (Surgery), Assistant Professors (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation): 40 yrs
• Assistant Legislative Counsel (Kannada): 43 yrs
• Veterinary Officers: 35 yrs
